In short

Play coins have no cash value and can never be cashed out, so there is nothing to win here. You can still spend more time or money than you meant to. The tools below help you keep control, and they also cover the store.

Fan Fortune is meant to be a short, fun game. This page explains the tools that help you keep it that way, the signs that play may be becoming a problem, and where to get help.

1. Keep it fun

  • Every result is decided by a simulation. Nothing that happened before, such as a run of wins or losses, changes the chance of the next game.
  • Returns are set so that, on average, you get back a little less than you play. Over time, expect to lose coins. Buying coins does not change this, and coins can never be turned into money.
  • Decide how long you will play before you start.
  • Never play to win back coins you have lost.
  • Take regular breaks, and stop if it stops being fun.

2. Your tools

These tools are in the Account area (Play limits and Breaks). They do not change chances, returns or results.

Play limits

Daily, weekly and monthly

Sets the most coins you can play in each period. Periods are rolling: daily means the last 24 hours, weekly the last 7 days and monthly the last 30 days. Refunded games do not count. A game that would take you over a limit will not start.

Changes: Lowering a limit applies immediately. Raising or removing a limit waits 24 hours.

Spending limit

Monthly, in US dollars

Sets the most you can spend in the store in the last 30 days. A purchase that would take you over the limit is refused.

Changes: Lowering the limit applies immediately. Raising or removing it waits 24 hours.

Time-played reminders

An interval you choose

Shows a reminder of how long you have been playing, so you can decide whether to stop.

Changes: You can change or turn off reminders at any time.

Breaks

24 hours, 7 days or 30 days

Stops you starting any game, buying coins or claiming bonuses until the break ends.

Changes: A break cannot be shortened or cancelled. Choosing a longer break extends it.

Self-exclusion

6 months, 1 year or permanently

Stops you playing Fan Fortune for the whole period. Use it if you want a longer stop than a break.

Changes: Self-exclusion cannot be shortened or cancelled, and a permanent exclusion cannot be undone. Closing your account does not end it. Do not open another account while excluded.

3. How to use them

  1. Open the Account area in Fan Fortune (the account button in the header; you need an account).
  2. Choose the Play limits tab or the Breaks tab.
  3. Choose a limit amount, reminder interval, break length or exclusion period.
  4. Confirm. For self-exclusion you are also asked to confirm that you understand it cannot be shortened or undone.

If you raise a limit, the Account area shows when the new limit takes effect. If you need help applying any of these, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL].

4. Signs that play may be a problem

  • You play for longer, or with more coins, than you meant to.
  • You try to win back what you have lost.
  • You think about the game when you are not playing, or feel restless or irritable when you try to stop.
  • You hide how much you play from people close to you.
  • Play affects your sleep, work, studies, money or relationships.
  • You play to escape problems or a low mood.

If any of these sound familiar, take a break or self-exclude, and talk to someone you trust or to the helpline below.
